About the Artist

I am currently living and painting in Madrid. I have an academic background in ceramic sculpture and costume design and my professional career was as a commercial artist with the Walt Disney Company. I am currently working on a collection of paintings inspired by both adventures and daily life. I am painting with acrylics and oils at the moment. These paintings are done on either wood panels, board or canvas. I sketch the scene and begin painting by focusing primarily on the large shapes then I give myself total freedom with color. I am using a lot of bright colors right now. I feel that colors are a force and provide an energy that defies negativity. My hope is to create art that brings out the positivity in the world. As you may notice these paintings are primarily portrayals of ordinary places, objects, transportation, animals, skylines and backstreets. The original subjects caught my attention and I try to portray with paint a story around them.
